5G Spectrum Auctions: Govt Receives Bids Worth ₹1.49 Lakh Crores On Day 2

New Delhi: The Union Minister of Communication Ashwini Vaishnaw added on Wednesday that the government has received ₹1.49 lakh crores at the end of day two of the 5G spectrum auctions.

The Ministry further added that the auction will continue on Thursday. He further added that the “5G auction is continuing even today and it is going to continue tomorrow also. At the end of the 9th round, we have grossed about Rs 1,49,454 crores,”.

The auctions on Tuesday received bids worth ₹1.45 lakh crores in four rounds of bidding on day one.

Five rounds of bidding were carried out on Wednesday. Ashwini Vaishnaw further updated that 700 MHz has seen a good response and was sold. He further added that the lower and mid bands also received good response.

Four firms are in the fray for the 5G auction. These firms are – Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited, Vodafone Idea Limited and Adani Data Networks Limited.

According to reports, Reliance Jio has been the most aggressive in the bids followed by Sunil Bharti Mittal led- Bharti Airtel.
