Indore BJP Workers Donate Clothes For Ranveer Singh Over Naked Photoshoot

Date:

Indore: Known as the cleanest city in the country, Indore this time cleaning Ranveer Singh’s mind.

BJP workers in Indore held a protest against actor Ranveer Singh and said they will send clothes to him after Singh’s nude photoshoot for a magazine published last week draws flack from a section of people.

The BJP members described Ranveer’s photo session as “act against Indian culture” and sent him garments from the “Neki ki Diwar” a cloth donation drive.
A video of the NGO collecting the clothes is also doing the rounds on social media.

The protesters have kept a box and put up a banner which reads, “Mere Swachh Indore Ne Thana Hai, Desh Se Mansik Kachra Bhi Hatana Hai (Indore has decided to remove mental waste from the country).”

The protesters stated that Ranveer Singh is a popular figure among young people and has a large fan base. This kind of photo shoot displays “cheap popularity” and “may affect the youth of today.” This needs to go down, demanded the protestors.

BJP leader Dilip Sharma, said “This act of Ranveer is embarrassing to the country, it is against the Indian culture, he has bought a bungalow worth crores, so he does not have money to fill the EMIs, then we are sending clothes to him by courier to Bombay.”

The leader also added, “…If you want to stay in India, you will have to live according to its culture and discipline…”. The workers also raised slogans against Ranveer.

An FIR was registered against Singh on a complaint filed at the Chembur Police Station. Reportedly, the case has been filed after receiving the complaint by an office-bearer of the NGO who had alleged that the actor hurt the sentiments of women with his nude photos.

The Mumbai Police filed the FIR under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
