All New 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Unveiled; Launch In September

Maruti Suzuki unveiled its new mid-size SUV Grand Vitara on Wednesday and it will be launched in September. The new Grand Vitara has a lot in common with Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder and is a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq among the other similarly priced SUVs.

Pricing for the Grand Vitara is yet to be announced but it the expected to be priced at around Rs 9.5 lakh. The Grand Vitara will be retailed through the premium Nexa dealership chain.

The SUV shares a lot in common with Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder, but it has a unique design. It gets the NEXwave grill up front, flanked by split LED headlamps and at the rear the SUV have sleek looking LED tail lights running across the width of the tailgate.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara powertrain

The Grand Vitara is powered with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech, it puts out the power of 103PS and 137 Nm and has a claimed efficiency of 21.11 kmpl, while the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with strong-hybrid tech has a max power of 116ps and 122 Nm torque and it is also claimed to be best-in-class fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech can be either a 5-speed manual transmission(MT) or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission(AT) with paddle shifters. The 5MT version will be equipped with Suzuki’s AllGRIP All Wheel Drive(AWD) configuration with modes like Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock drive. Well, on the other hand, the strong-hybrid( Intelligent Electric hybrid) version will only be with an e-CVT that powers the front wheels, drive modes offered in the strong hybrid version are EV, Eco, and power and Normal.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara features and safety

The SUV gets a Smart Play pro+ 9-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, Suzuki Connect with 40 + connected features, a 360-degree camera, a fully digital instrument cluster, head-up display, front ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Moving towards safety the Grand Vitara consists of 6 Airbags, Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Program, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and rear disc brakes.
