A video of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has gone viral on social media in which he can be heard explaining the method of producing vegetarian eggs in Parliament.
A social media user shared the post with the caption: “मुर्गी शाकाहारी अंडा भी दे सकती हैं, अधिक जानकारी के लिए संजय राऊत से मिले…” (English translation, “Hen can give vegetarian egg too, for more information meet Sanjay Raut.”)

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.
On searching with appropriate keywords, we found same video was uploaded by One India on its Facebook page on July 16, 2019. In this video he is seen asking Ayush Ministry to declare chicken and eggs as vegetarian food.
Mumbai Mirror also reported about this on July 16, 2019. According to the report, Raut stated that the AYUSH Ministry should take note and decide whether chicken is vegetarian or non-vegetarian.
Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video has been taken out of context and is being shared with a misleading claim.
