New Delhi: As Virat Kohli struggles with his form, he might miss the first ODI game against England at Oval due to sustaining a groin strain in the third T20 game.
According to a report by PTI, “Virat has a groin strain during the last match. It can’t be confirmed that it happened during the fielding or batting. He will probably miss the first ODI tomorrow at Oval as the groin needs rest.”
According to sources of ANI “Virat Kohli did not come for optional practice today ahead of the first ODI match at Kennington Oval. He has a suspected groin injury and is unlikely to play the first ODI against England.”
Virat didn’t travel in the team bus from Nottingham to London and the reason is likely to be a stopover for a medical check-up.
Kohli is currently struggling with his form as he failed to score runs in the past few series. Veterans of the game raised questions on his selection in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup later this year. However, skipper Rohit Sharma backed him up and said that players go through ups and downs in their careers. It is important to back the “quality of the player.”
