New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday unveiled the National Emblem cast on the roof of the new Parliament building.
The 6.5m in height bronze National Emblem cast took nine months to cast. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Lok Sabha Speaker OM Birla and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri amongst the others during the unveiling ceremony.
According to reports, the weight of the structure is 9,500 kgs and is 4.4m in width. The casting process was carried out on the. It further added that a supporting structure of steel weighing around 6,500kg has also been constructed to support the National Emblem cast.
PM Modi after unveiling the National Emblem had a brief conversation with the Shramjeevis (workers) who invested day and night to complete the structure under the given deadline.
A senior official while interacting with PTI confirmed that “The concept sketch and process of casting of the national emblem on the roof of the new Parliament building has gone through.
