New Delhi: Police arrested 41-years-old, Tetsuya Yamagami, for allegedly attempting to murder former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday.

- Tetsuya Yamagami is believed to be a local from the city of Nara.
- The police were able to seize the shotgun he used to carry out the attack.
- He was standing 10 feet behind Shinzo Abe while he was delivering his speech.
- Shinzo Abe collapsed on stage in the middle of his speech and Yamagami was tackled to the ground by the security
- Yamagami served as a Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force member till 2005.
- He is currently being charged with an attempt to murder.
