The internet is buzzing over a unique beer that was released by a small artisan brewery, Brewerkz in Singapore. This blonde ale called ‘NEWBrew’ and is made out of recycled toilet water.
PUB, the Singapore’s water agency, and the neighbourhood craft brewery Brewerkz worked together to create the alcoholic beverage. NEWBrew was first shown at a water conference in 2018, and it was released to the public in April at Brewerkz locations and supermarkets.

Due to the lack of freshwater resources, Singapore has used water recycling technology that processes sewage water and transforms it into drinking water. Prior to being released, the sewage water undergoes many steps of treatment, including UV disinfection and treatment.
This effort is made to promote the value of recycling and sustainability.
This drink tastes just like beer and reflects no hint of its nasty origin. still, because to the obvious stigma involved, not everyone is convinced; drinkers may choose items made of fresh water instead.
The first batch of NEWBrew, according to sources, has already run out on tap at Brewerkz restaurants, and the business expects that grocery inventories will run out by the end of July.
