New Delhi: After scorching heat, the national capital finally got a sigh of relief with rains on Thursday morning in various parts of the city.
Delhi-NCR woke up to dark clouds, thunder and showers in some areas, including Noida.
This comes just a day after Delhi battled hot weather on Wednesday, with the weather service predicting light overnight rainfalls. The India Meteorological Department gave its most recent weather forecast claiming that various Indian states could predict heavy rains, thunderstorms, and stormy weather on Thursday.

The IMD has released an orange alert, alerting of modest rain on June 30 in the town. The maximum temperature will drop to 33-34 degrees Celsius by July 1, according to the weather forecast.
The IMD predicts extremely heavy rainfall in confined areas of East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Bihar and Coastal Karnataka. In comparison, the IMD predicts heavy rain in a few secluded areas across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Sikkim.
Thunderstorm Warning
Severe storms with lightning are expected in isolated locations across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh. Wet and windy weather with winds gusting to 60 mph is expected along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, south Maharashtra, and the Lakshadweep area. High winds of 50-60 kph with gusts to 70 kph are expected over the southwest Arabian Sea and adjoining the west-central Arabian Sea. Strong winds of 45-55 kph with gusts to 60 kph are expected over the western and eastern Arabian Seas, the Comorin zone, and the Gulf of Mannar.
