Dublin: In a last-over thriller, India won the game by 4 runs defeating Ireland, ending the series with 2-0 on Tuesday.
India won the toss and elected to bat first. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson opened the innings for the side. Sanju Samson contributed 77 runs in 42 deliveries. In-form batsman Deepak Hooda played an outstanding inning and scored his maiden international century in-style.
Hooda scored 104 runs in just 54 deliveries. Middle-order batsmen failed to build partnerships and India put up a strong total of 226 runs for Ireland to chase in 20 overs.
Ireland’s batting attack took up the challenge with Andrew Balbirnie playing a power-packed inning of 60 runs in just 37 deliveries. George Dockrell gave his all in getting close to the total by scoring 34 in just 16 deliveries.
