Jan Mohd Lone of Shopian has been identified as one of the terrorists killed. He was involved in the recent killing of Vijay Kumar, a bank manager, on June 2 in Kulgam district, in addition to other terror crimes,” the police added in another tweet.

The murder caused outrage because it was the latest in a string of terrorist acts in the Valley. Last year, terrorist strikes on migrant employees and community minority groups began. Kashmiri Pandits also were protesting in Jammu and Kashmir, demanding that they be moved to safer places.
Since Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, was shot dead within the prosecutor’s office in Budgam steadily for the past month, people in the community have already staged a protest. Approximately 4,000 Kashmir Pandits hired in the Valley as part of the Prime Minister’s rehabilitation package have been confronted to flee, claiming that they are no longer trusted.
