New Delhi: Opener KL Rahul and IPL’s star performer Kuldeep Yadav have been ruled out of the five-match T20 series against South Africa due to an injury.
Following the reports of KL Rahul’s unavailability in the side, the All India Senior Selection Committee has named wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant as Captain of the Indian side and Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain.
According to the statement from BCCI, KL Rahul will miss out due to a right groin injury while Yadav will miss out after getting hit on his right hand while batting in the nets last evening.
Both the players are going to report at NCA where medical teams will further access them and decide on a future course of treatment.
India will clash with South Africa in the first T20 match of the home series on Thursday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
