DGCA Makes Masks Compulsory During Air Travel Amid Surge In COVID Cases

Date:

New Delhi: Amid the recent surge in the number of COVID cases in the last few weeks, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that wearing masks throughout the flight journey will be mandatory.

DGCA following the direction of the High Court issued new norms for COVID in airports and aircraft for passengers and crew members.

The order further added that the passengers who will not follow the new COVID norms incorporated by the authorities will be termed ‘unruly’ and will be deboarded ahead of the departure of the aircraft.

According to reports, passengers can be exempted from the new norms in case of exceptional circumstances. The Delhi High Court added that strict action should be taken against those not following the norms set by DGCA.
