Hyderabad: Telangana Police confirmed the arrest of the fourth accused on Sunday in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a minor girl in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills.
According to police reports, Out of four arrests made by the police, three of them are juveniles. S.Rajashekhar, Inspector Jubilee Hills said that “Police arrest fourth accused in the matter. One more accused has been taken into custody, and now a total of four accused have been arrested.” The fifth accused in the case is still absconding.
Earlier, Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali assured and promised that no leniency is being adopted in the Hyderabad gang-rape case while also pointing out that the police works without any pressure and spares no culprit.
The comments of the Home Minister came after BJP demanded that the case should be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and arrest all the accused involved.
A case was registered following the complaint against the five accused allegedly involved in the case under sections 354 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 9 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
