Fact Check: This Viral ‘Solar Eclipse’ Image Is Not Real But A Digital Artwork

Date:

An image is doing the rounds on social media platforms, showing a solar eclipse with an aircraft in the sky with a claim that visuals show a ‘real eclipse.’

A Facebook user shared the image with the caption: “Solar eclipse, a miracle of nature.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image, and found that the image is digitally manipulated.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture on the Shutterstock website. The original image does not have a plane, unlike the viral image.

“Solar eclipse elements of this image furnished by NASA,” reads the caption.

Digital art has been credited to an artist named muratart, who has a whole gallery with artworks about the solar eclipse.

Therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that the viral image does not show a real image but a digital artwork.
