Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Slams BJP Over Encroachment Drive

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday slammed the BJP-led civic body for carrying out encroachment drives across Delhi over the past few weeks.

Delhi CM in a statement said that the BJP-led municipal corporation is actively using bulldozers to remove illegal encroachments in different parts of the national capitals. Arvind Kejriwal in a statement pointed out that “We are against encroachments but Delhi is not a planned location. More than 80 percent of Delhi is under encroachments.”

He further added that he is against the method used by the BJP-led civic body of destroying the encroachments without hearing the appeals made by the people. He further alleged that the civic body plans to destroy ‘kutcha colony’ settlements which have more than 50 lakh people settled in them.

CM Arvind Kejriwal observed that “bulldozers can run over houses and encroachments of over 63 lakh people residing in different parts of Delhi. This will be massive destruction in the history of Independent India.” He further adds that BJP promised to give registered ownership to the people residing in these colonies, and now they are here to destroy them.
