We ran a keyword search and found that the same video was uploaded on the YouTube channel News 43 on March 11, 2022. The headline of the report read, “बीजेपी की जीत से दुखी हो सपा नेता ने खुद को लगाई आग | मोबाइल में रिकॉर्ड हुई पूरी घटना News43.”

A report by The Indian Express identified the man as Narendra Singh alias ‘Pintu’. The report mentioned that Narendra Singh suffered 30% burns, and was undergoing treatment at a civil hospital.
