A video of a cop tying a bloodied handkerchief on his forehead is going viral on social media with a claim that the cop faked a head injury during the clashes in Jodhpur.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found that the video is being shared with a misleading claim.
We ran a search and found that the picture of the police was originally published in a report by Dainik Bhaskar. The e-paper of the same can be seen here.
On searching further, we found that after the video went viral online, Jodhpur police took to Twitter to clarify that Jodhpur ASI Dhanaaram was actually injured during the incident and was not faking his injuries.
The Tweet read, “#Jodhpur The truth of the misleading news regarding the injury of ASI Shri Dhannaram in the Jalori Gate incident… In the incident, ASI sustained a head injury due to which there was blood on the hand and handkerchief. After the incident, the injured ASI was given medical aid and FIR was registered in the police station Sardarpura …#AvoidFakeNews”
Moreover, taking to BOOM, ASI Dhanaaram said, “I cleaned my face with the handkerchief before tying it on my forehead. In the video, there’s no blood on my face but blood can be seen on the handkerchief and my hand. I had received a head injury.”
