Test, Track & Treat: PM Modi Holds Review Meeting Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

Over the past few weeks, India has seen a slight increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. In view of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a review meeting with the Chief Ministers via video conferencing today, i.e 27th April 2022 to assess the health situation across the nation.

Apart from the Prime Minister and senior officials of the Prime Minister’s Office, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and officials from their respective Ministries are also present at the meeting.

In his address, raising the concern that Covid-19 has not ended yet and variants of the virus could still cause havoc as witnessed in nations of Europe, PM vouched for continuous tracking of the virus via the ‘Test, Track & Treat’ strategy. PM said, “We have to stop infections at the earliest stage. We have to keep following the ‘Test, Track & Treat’ strategy.”

In the 88th Edition of Mann Ki Baat held on 24th April 2022, PM Modi had urged people to stay alert to the threat from the coronavirus and continue to follow Covid’s appropriate behaviour such as wearing masks and frequently washing hands.

Covid Vaccination Coverage exceeds 188.19 cr

In the fight against Covid-19, 188.19 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under National Vaccination Drive as of 27th April 2022. 83.59 Cr tests have been conducted so far and 5,05,065 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
