The video is being shared on Facebook with a Hindi caption, “ट्रेन के हॉर्न से इनको दिक्कत हो रही थी नमाज पढ़ने में”

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be MISLEADING.
A simple Reverse Image Search directed us to the verified YouTube page of Sathiyam News that carried the same viral video on April 12, 2022. The video description read, “Terrible clash of college students on a running train.”
We then compared the viral image with the YouTube video and found many similarities. However, we could not find any mention of ‘Namaz’ in the YouTube video. The caption of the video described the incident as a “Clash between college students” near the Perambur railway station in Chennai.
Taking a cue from this, we performed a keyword search and found multiple news articles that reported the same incident stating, “Chennai: Students pelt stones at train amid a fight between rival groups, passengers panic.” According to both the reports, the clash broke out near Chennai’s Perambur station on April 11.
The report further states that “A fight broke out between two rival student gangs at a railway station in Chennai and one of the gangs began to pelt stones at a train, causing panic among passengers on Monday. The rivalry between students from Pachaiyappa’s College and Presidency College has turned ugly on several occasions.”
More searches directed us to multiple media reports published in 2016 and 2018 that reported similar instances of clashes between the two rival groups. But, we could not find any communal angle in any of the news reports.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that a video showing two rival college groups pelting stones at each other is being falsely shared with a communal angle.
