Jahangirpuri Violence: 7 Accused Produced Before Court; Fresh Stone Pelting Reported

New Delhi: Seven accused have been produced before Rohini Court by Delhi police on Monday in connection with the Jahangirpuri violence.

A total of seven accused have been produced in the Rohini Court on Monday in connection with the Jahangirpuri violence.

Prime Accused Ansar and Aslam were sent to police custody for a day by the court. The remaining 12 accused were sent under judicial custody for 14 days.

Bricks were thrown at the Delhi Police Crime Branch Team in C-Block in Jahangirpuri where they went for the investigation

Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana confirmed that three firearms have been recovered and forensics teams will examine the recoveries.

21 accused have been arrested in connection with the Jahangirpuri Violence and some are kept on remand.

Mayank Bansal, Additional DSP said that “Let me see the situation”, on being asked about the fresh pelting of stones in the area.

DCP North-West Delhi confirmed fresh stone-pelting on officers who went to arrest a suspect from his house.

He said, “A team of police went to the house of the suspect in CD Park road in search and examination of his family members.”

“Family members pelted two stones on the officers in retaliation. Legal Action is being taken. One person has been detained by the police. The situation is completely under control.” said DCP North-West District.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said that the police is monitoring social media to curb misinformation related to the case.

He also added that strict action will be taken against any person found guilty of the violence.

Nine people have sustained injuries including police personnel and one civilian during the clash.
