IPL 2022: Meet India’s Latest Pace Sensation Umran Malik

Mumbai: Indian Premier League over the years have been known for shaping and recognizing young talent and exposing them to the world of international level competition and pressure. Pace sensation Umran Malik is the find of IPL 2022. 

Umran Malik hails from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, and represents his state in the domestic games. He has played three games in First-Class cricket and bagged 7 wickets in just 5 innings with an economy rate of 4.98. 

Malik bowled a maiden 20th over and got Odean Smith, Rahul Chahar, and Vaibhav Arora in the final over, restricting Punjab Kings to a total of 151 runs on board. 

He finished his spell with figures of 4/28 in the last game against Punjab Kings. 

The IPL bowling sensation is representing Sunrisers Hyderabad after they retained him in the squad. Umran Malik has taken 11 wickets in nine matches that he has played so far in the Indian Premier League. His pace and speed in the match have received appreciation across the board. 

Umran Malik has dominated the records for fastest deliveries bowled this season. He bowled 153.3 km/h bowl to Hardik Pandya, which is the fastest delivery bowled in this season of IPL. 

His exceptional performance in the last game against Punjab Kings got him praise and appreciation from around the corners. 

Ravi Shastri tweeted and said “ Umarn Malik makes sure you don’t take your eyes off the ball even when watching on television. Exhilarating stuff.”

TRS Working President KT Rama Rao couldn’t stop himself from praising Umran for his exceptional campaign this year. In a tweet, he said, “What an unbelievable spell full of raw pace #UmranMalik Take a bow young man. By far the best over in the IPL.”
