MS Dhoni Steps Down As CSK Skipper; Jadeja To Lead

New Delhi: MS Dhoni stepped down as the Captain of Chennai Super Kings on Thursday, two days ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.

CSK veteran, Ravindra Jadeja will lead the team in the 2022 edition of the IPL which will start on Saturday with CSK locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai.

“MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team,” the team said in a statement.

“Jadeja, who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will only be the third player to lead CSK. Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond,” the statement stated.

10 teams will lock horns in the highly anticipated tournament this year in over 74 matches which include 70 league matches and four playoff games.
