Women’s CWC: India Secures A Crucial Win Over Bangladesh, Clears Road To Semi Final

Indian Women’s Cricket Team beat Bangladesh Women’s Team by 110 runs in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.

The Indian batting side started with a strong partnership. Smriti Mandhana scored 30 runs in 51 deliveries. Yastika Bhatia took charge of the innings and scored a balanced half-century. Pooja Vastrakar finally took the team total to 229 by being unbeaten at 30.

Bangladesh started with quick dismissals in the form of Sharmin Akhter followed by Fargana Hoque and skipper Nigar Sultana. The team added up a total of 119 in 40.3 overs.

Team India secured the crucial game and kept themselves in the run for the semi-finals ahead in the tournament. India defended the target of 230 with the help of a very effective bowling display from pacer Jhulan Goswami, Rajeswari Gayakwad, and the wicket-taking spell of Sneh Rana who bagged 4 wickets.

Yastika Bhatia was announced as ‘Player of the Match’ for her half-century.

Indian Women’s Team will be facing South Africa on 27th March to secure their chances of securing their place in the semi-finals.
