A video is being shared on social media with a claim that after the Aam Aadmi Party won the elections in Punjab, some party members thrashed a RTO Officer.
The viral post read, “#पंजाब मे गुंडाराज शुरू हो गया है … अभी तो यह शुरुआत है RTO #ऑफिसर के साथ #केजरीवाल, #भगवंत मान के गुंडों ने खूनी खेल खेला …. यह आज की वीडियो है #पंजाब की …. अभी तो शपथ भी नही ली शराबी #भगवंत मान ने तो यह हाल कर रहे है पंजाब का ”
(Translation: Gundaraj has started in Punjab…it is just the beginning…Kejriwal with RTO officer, Bhagwant Mann’s goons played a bloody game….this is today’s video of Punjab….now So the drunkard did not even take the oath, Bhagwant Mann is doing this condition of Punjab)

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.
We ran a Reverse Image Search on keyframes of the video along with a keyword search. We found that in a reply to the same video shared with the same caption, a Twitter handle clarified that the video is of a March 5, 2022, incident from Hajipur in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur.
Taking a cue from this, we reached out to Hajipur Police for confirmation and they clarified that the incident took place on March 5, 2022, on Puliya Road. They also told us that the viral claim attached to the video is not true and the video is of a clash between two groups.

As per the FIR registered by one Surinder Singh, he was passing through Kulliyan Lubana when another man named Diljit Singh alias Kala attacked him after a heated argument. Diljit along with several others was in an Innova and his group beat up Surinder and vandalized his car. However, the report doesn’t mention anything about the involvement of any political party.
Hence, from the above fact check it is clear that the video is being shared with a false claim.
