Rishi Kapoor’s Last Film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ Set To Release On OTT

Date:

‘Sharmaji Namkeen,’ Rishi Kapoor’s last on-screen performance, finally has a release date.

Rishi Kapoor, the veteran Bollywood actor, died in April 2020 at the age of 67 after a long cancer battle.

On March 31, the film will have its OTT debut.

The film, directed by Hitesh Bhatia, will be released on Amazon Prime Video and is described as a “relatable and heartwarming story of self-realization and discovery” by its makers. Also features Juhi Chawla.

Sharmaji Namkeen, a film about self-realization and discovery, tells the story of a newly retired man who discovers his passion for cooking after joining a women’s kitty circle.

The film’s production was halted when Rishi Kapoor’s health deteriorated, despite its earlier release date. The film was continued when Paresh Rawal was brought in to finish the remaining scenes. This is the first time in film history that two actors will portray the same character.
