FACT CHECK

We fact-checked the viral graphics and found them to be false.

We ran a keyword search and found an Exit Poll graphic shared on the verified Facebook page of News 24. As per the graphic, the BJP alliance is predicted to bag 294 seats while it predicted that the SP alliance would be able to secure 105 seats. The graphic was shared with the caption, “Will BJP government come in Uttar Pradesh once again?”

We also found the original video report which was streamed live by News 24 on March 7, 2022.

We then ran a keyword search and found the original Aaj Tak report on Exit Polls.

As per India Today and Axis My India survey, the BJP alliance in UP is expected to get 288-326 seats while the SP alliance will get 71-101.

Hence, from the above fact check, it is clear that none of the news channels predicted SP’s win in Uttar Pradesh and the viral graphics are fake.
