Fact Check: Viral ‘Sikh For Justice’ Letter In Support Of AAP Is Fake

Amidst the ongoing assembly polls in five states, a contentious letter allegedly issued by the banned pro-Khalistan group ‘Sikhs For Justice’ has surfaced on social media platforms with a claim that SFJ has come out in support of the Aam Admi Party in Punjab, where voting was held in a single phase on February 20, 2022.

A Facebook user shared the video with the caption, “Surprising: Khalistan group “Sikhs for Justice” declares support for Aam Aadmi Party.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral letter and found it to be fake.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, chief of Sikhs For Justice, issued a video statement stating that the letter is fake. He further accused Aam Aadmi Party of making a fake letter viral. The video was shared by a Zee News journalist on Twitter.

“There is a letter being circulated that claims SFJ supports Aam Aadmi Party for the elections. This letter is fake and is a lie,” Pannu can be heard saying in the video where he speaks in Punjabi.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the viral letter is fake.
