
Voting kicked off in Goa and the 55 seats of Uttar Pradesh at 7 am on Monday, while polling in Uttarakhand started at 8 am. Uttar Pradesh recorded a voter turnout of 60.44 per cent till 5 pm on Monday in the second phase of the ongoing Assembly elections.
According to the Election Commission of India, Saharanpur witnessed the highest voter turnout of 67.05 per cent followed by Amroha (66.15 per cent) and Moradabad (64.52 per cent) till 5 pm. Shahjahanpur recorded the lowest percentage of voter turnout of 55.20. Further, Bareilly reported a voter turnout of 57.68 per cent, while Sambhal saw 56.88 per cent voter turnout.
Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand voting is underway in 70 assembly seats spread over 13 districts. Long queues of voters were seen outside polling booths as polling began at 8 am amid strict adherence to Covid protocol.
Uttar Pradesh
Voting is currently underway for the second phase of elections in UP. In this phase, two crore voters are set to decide the fate of 586 candidates.
The assembly constituencies are spread across nine districts- Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Amroha, Budaun, Bareilly, and Shahjahanpur.
Goa
Goa will see all of its 40 assembly seats going to the polls in a single phase. The polling for assembly seats in Goa began at 7 am and will end at 6 pm today.
