AAP Candidate In Goa Breaks Down, Responds To Malicious Comment About Her Character

Advocate Pratima Betsy Coutinho, Aam Aadmi Candidate From Navelim Goa broke down during a press conference, alleging that BJP-turned-Congress candidate Avertano Furtado had insulted her.

She said that Furtado insulted her and called her characterless after she accused him of switching back to BJP. While crying she asked all the women of Navelim to teach Furtado a lesson for his anti-women mindset.


In the press conference, Atishi consoled Coutinho while she broke down and also strongly condemned Furtado.

Arvind Kejriwal also condemned Furtado and tweeted, “I strongly condemn the sick comments made by Congress candidate against our lady candidate. We ought to maintain decency in public discourse.”


As per media reports, Furtado has refuted the viral claim as baseless and threatened to file a defamation case against Coutinho if she does not apologise.

State Assembly Elections are going to be held in Goa in single-phase on February 14 and the results will be announced on March 10.
