FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.

We searched with keywords and found no media report that suggested any collision of an Indian satellite with the International Space Station.

Also, on searching for the keyword, “Michael Collins death”, we found a report by NPR published on April 28, 2021. According to the report, he died battling cancer and not by any collision at the International Space Station.

Also, on doing a Yandex Reverse Image Search, we found that the same video was uploaded by Instagram page aleksey__n on July 27, 2021. The caption associated with the video mentioned ‘animation’.

In the bio, the Instagram user identified himself as Aleksey Patrev, a CGI artist and had also uploaded various similar videos in the past.

Thus, we can ascertain that the viral video is an animated video and does not show any collision at the International Space Station.
