FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be false.
On doing a Google Reverse Image Search we found the same image was published by The Indian Express on January 3, 2019, with a caption: “
We found that News 18 had also uploaded the image with the caption that read, “Renowned cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar, who died due to age-related ailments, was cremated on Thursday with his most famous ward Sachin Tendulkar in attendance for a tearful adieu.”
India Today had also uploaded a video of the incident. The report associated with the video read, “Renowned cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar, who died due to age-related ailments, was cremated in Mumbai on Thursday with his most famous ward Sachin Tendulkar in attendance for a tearful adieu.”
