In the backdrop of the recent surge in Omicron cases, many states have announced night curfews and banned New Year gatherings to check the spread of the virus.
Amid this, a post is being shared widely on Facebook claiming that Haryana Government has announced night curfew and said that markets will be closed after 6 pm.
(English translation: BREAKING NEWS…Decision to close Haryana markets from 6 pm tomorrow… Night curfew time extended:- CM. Markets will close from tomorrow at 6 in Haryana. Do not crowd at unnecessary places, programs will not be held without the permission of SDM: Home Minister Anil Vij orders)

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.
On searching with the keywords, “Haryana night curfew”, we found a report published by Hindustan Times on December 25, 2021. The report suggested that Haryana Government issued a fresh ‘Mahamari Surakshit’ alert across the state, thereby imposing restrictions on the movement of people from 11 pm to 5 am. The report further said that the government has put curbs on the number of people gathering at social functions and made double vaccination mandatory to enter public places from January 1.
We however did not find any media report to suggest that night curfew will be in force from 6 pm in Haryana.
Moreover, we found that Fact Check DPR Haryana also refuted the viral claim in a tweet.
(English Translation: Alert: A message is going viral on social media regarding the closure of the market from 6 pm tomorrow. This message is fake. The government has not taken any decision regarding the closure of markets in Haryana.)
Thus, it is clear that although Haryana Government has announced night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am, no announcements have been made to extend night curfew timings further or closure of shops. Thus, the viral post is misleading.
