Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the nation amid the looming threat of Omicron variant where he urged the citizens to not panic and follow COVID precautions.
COVID vaccination for children aged 15-18 years to start from Jan 3: PM Modi
PM Modi announced that the COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 15-18 years will start from January 3.
This comes after Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for emergency use for kids aged between 12-18 years, said official sources. In his address to the nation, PM Modi said, “Vaccination for children aged between 15-18 years will begin from January 3, 2022.”
Citizens above 60 with co-morbidities can avail ‘precaution dose’ against COVID-19 on advice of doctor: PM Modi
PM Modi in his address also said that senior citizens facing co-morbidities will have the option to go for “precaution dose” of COVID-19 on the advice of their doctors.
Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister said that the government has followed scientific advice on vaccination against COVID-19. “Citizens above 60 years facing comorbidities, they will have the option of taking precaution dose on advice of doctor,” the Prime Minister said.
He said corona warriors, healthcare and frontline workers have made a huge contribution in keeping the country safe in the fight against COVID-19.
