An image is widely being shared on social media in which 5 waves can be seen. The image is being linked to Nazare, Portugal.
The caption of the image reads, “A blend of 5 giant waves in Nazaré, Portugal.”

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.
On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found that the viral image was shared on Pixels, with the caption that read, “Nazare Morning is a piece of digital artwork by Mattias Hammar which was uploaded on November 30th, 2021.”
The image description read, “A fantasy version of big waves at Nazaré in Portugal. A composition of 12 photos taken on location in 2020. By Mattias Hammar”
We found that the same image was also published on the Fine Art America website, attributing the artwork to Mattias Hammar.
We also found the Instagram handle of Mattias Hammar, where he had uploaded the same image. He had replied to the user that the image was a ‘photoshop collage’ and not real.
Thus, digital artwork is being falsely being shared on social media with a claim that it shows giant waves from Nazaré, Portugal.
