New Delhi: After missing last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the popular and much-awaited event of the year — the India International Trade Fair (IITF) — opens at Pragati Maidan on November 14.

Drawing participation from 25 states and Union Territories, the IITF will have a rather low foreign participation this year and 40 companies from nine countries will display their multi-products at the fair.
The fair will be held in revamped four modern halls at Pragati Maidan which has been developed as an international exhibition-cum-convention center with ultra-modern facilities.
The 40th edition of the IITF will be held over a 70,000 sq meter area at Pragati Maidan this time which is three times the size of the event which was held in 2019.
More than 3,000 exhibitors will participate in the fair besides several Central ministries, according to the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) chief L C Goyal.
Overseas participation will be from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE, Tunisia, and Turkey.
All Covid protocols will be in place during the fair and a good number of security personnel and civil defence personnel will be posted to guide the visitors, To avoid crowding, the sale of tickets will also be regulated and at no point of time, more than 35,000 to 40,000 visitors will be allowed inside the venue.
