Indian clothing brand Fab India removed its advertisement for one of its clothing collections called ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz’ after it received heavy backlash.

The now-deleted social media post by Fab India read, “As we welcome the festival of love and light, Jashn-e-Riwaaz by Fabindia is a collection that beautifully pays homage to Indian culture.” The tweet is now deleted.

The company had to face severe backlash after the advertisement.

Tejasvi Surya, BJP MP from Bengaluru tweeted, “Deepavali is not Jash-e-Riwaaz. This deliberate attempt of abrahamisation of Hindu festivals, depicting models without traditional Hindu attires, must be called out. And brands like @FabindiaNews must face economic costs for such deliberate misadventures.”

BJP leader Kapil Mishra tweeted, “Time to #BoycottFabIndia They don’t deserve our money”
