A screenshot of a news article is being widely shared on social media claiming that suspension of flights from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to UAE may go beyond December 31.
The image is shared on Facebook with a caption that reads, “Suspension of flights to UAE Till 31st December.”
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FALSE.
Starting with our investigation, we searched the web with relevant keywords and found many news articles which stated that “The United Arab Emirates will lift the ban on entry of passengers from India and five other countries from 5 August.” No credible media report claimed that the suspension of flights to the UAE may go beyond December 31.
More searches led us to a tweet posted by the Gulf News on August 3, 2021, in which it was clarified that “Fake flight ban story is doing the rounds in #UAE”.

Searching further, we also found a news article published by Gulf News on August 3, 2021, which stated that “fake news is being circulated in the name of Gulf News with fudged headlines and timestamps on WhatsApp. The fake story changed the date of the flight ban from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to December 31, which is not true.”
The article further explains that the headline of the news article had been forged.
We also traced the original news article from which the headline was morphed. The article was published on August 1, 2021. The headline of the original article read, “Suspension of flights from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to UAE ‘may go beyond August 7’.”
Thus, it is evident from the above information that a morphed screenshot of a news article is being shared on social media falsely claiming that suspension of flights from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to UAE may go beyond December 31.
