An image is going viral on social media in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen giving a speech while carrying an umbrella with the Jio logo printed on it.
The image is shared to claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was advertising Jio, a telecommunication company owned by industrialist Mukesh Ambani.
The image is shared with the caption that reads, “ये होती है ईमानदारी! नौटंकी के लिये छाता भी जियो वाले दे रहे है.” (Which translates in English as, “This is called as honesty! Jio is providing an umbrella for acting.”)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.
We did a Google Reverse Image Search with the above image and found out that a similar image was uploaded by a news website News Today on July 19, 2021. However, in the original image, the umbrella was visibly different.
We compared both the images and found out that in the original image PM Modi is carrying a black umbrella that does not have the logo of Jio on it.
A similar photo of PM Modi holding an umbrella was also published by Punjab Kesari on July 19, 2021.

The video of the same was also uploaded by the official YouTube channel of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The caption of the video reads, “PM Modi’s remarks at the start of Monsoon Session of Parliament 2021.”
In the video, PM Modi can be seen holding a black umbrella and not an umbrella with the Jio logo printed on it. Hence, it is evident that the viral image has been digitally morphed.
