India & Russia Are Closely Monitoring Afghanistan Situation: Russian Embassy

India and Russia are closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and are maintaining a close dialogue says Roman N.Babushkin, Deputy Head of the Russian Embassy in India.

On the issue of a possible Taliban resurgence, Babushkin said that all parties must respect commitments. Russia also emphasized that a government with ethnic representation in Afghanistan is important for a peaceful and democratic process.

Addressing a virtual press conference, the Russian Ambassador to India Nikolay Kudashev reiterated the Indian-Russian partnership over the years.

Ambassador Kudashev said that the recent visit to Moscow by the Indian Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar was fruitful and both nations are looking forward to the 2+2 Dialogue and the Russia–India–China (RIC) trilateral alignment.

The upcoming month of August was highlighted as a watershed moment in relations between India and the Soviet Union. This month marks the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship in 1971.  The Treaty was the manifestation of shared goals of the two nations as well as a blueprint for the strengthening of regional and global peace and security.

The single-dose Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine is expected to launch soon in India said Russian envoy Nikolay Kudashev on Wednesday.

“Sputnik V being part of the Indian vaccination campaign is gradually increasing. The launch of the Sputnik Light vaccine is also expected soon,” said Kudashev while speaking about the outcomes of the Russian-Indian foreign ministers’ talks in Moscow.
