Death Toll In Philippine Military Plane Crash Rises To 45

A military plane carrying at least 85 people crashed in the southern Philippines on Sunday, local media reported.

A C130 plane of the Philippine Air Force crashed in Barangay, at 11:30 am, CNN Philippines reported. Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief Cirilito Sobejana said rescue operations for passengers and crew are ongoing.

The death toll in a plane crash rose to 45, CNN Philippines broadcaster reported citing the country’s defense ministry.

Out of these 45, 42 died on board the plane and three more on the ground. The rescue operation continues, and 42 people were found alive. The plane crashed on the island of Jolo while trying to land as it missed the runway, media reported earlier in the day.
