An image of a young girl with big beautiful eyes has surfaced on social media platforms claiming that she has lost her eyesight. With this, social media users are appealing to people to forward this message to help her by facilitating donations.
A Facebook user shared the image with the caption, “Please help this baby girl.” The text written on the image can be translated to, “Look how beautiful this girl is, just like a doll, but there is no sight in her eyes. We don’t have to donate money, we just have to help her by forwarding this message on WhatsApp as much as possible. On every message, 1 paisa will be deposited in her account and then with that accumulated money, her eyes will be operated. With the grace of god, then this beautiful doll will be able to see the world.”
The image is being widely shared on Facebook with a similar claim.

During our investigation we found that the girl seen in the viral image is a popular Instagram icon from Iran and her name is Mahdis Mohammadi.
We also found a news report related to Mahdis published on the ‘Good Times’ website. The report carries several photos and videos of Mahdis and there is no mention that Mahdis is visually impaired or has lost her eyesight.
