After a military aircraft crashed in Myanmar on June 10, 2021, killing 12 people, a video started doing rounds on social media with a claim that it shows the recent crash.
A user shared the video on Facebook with the caption which can be roughly translated to, “A plane crash near Pyin Oo Lwin that killed 12 people and injured two others.”

A Reverse Image Search along with some keywords led us to a video published on Facebook by a Burmese media organisation Mizzima dated February 10, 2016.
The description of the video in Burmese can be loosely translated to ‘Security forces carrying the dead bodies of a major, two captains, and one lieutenant sergeant, who were killed in the military plane crash that landed in a field near Kyan Khin Village, Shwe Pyi Thar village tract, Lewe township, Naypyidaw at 9:41 on February 10, 2016. (Video by Nay Thar/ Mizzima)’.
The incident was reported by multiple news organisations. We found a report by French newswire AFP dated February 10, 2016, featuring a snapshot from the video. The headline of the report read, “Five dead in Myanmar military plane crash: officials.”
As per the report, all five crew members died when a Myanmar air force plane crashed in the capital Naypyidaw on February 10, 2016, bursting into flames soon after take-off and smashing into a nearby field.

Thus, it is clear from the above information that visuals of a plane crash in 2016 are being shared as recent. Hence, the claim is misleading.
