Coca-Cola Loses $4 Billion After Cristiano Ronaldo’s Snub At Euro 2020 Presser

Date:

Following Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo’s removal of two Coca-Cola bottles during a press conference at the Euro 2020, the company’s market value dropped by $4 billion.

As he spoke to the media before Portugal’s first game of the tournament against Hungary, the 36-year-old Juventus FC striker moved the two bottles to the side.

Ronaldo is a well-known fitness enthusiast. He made his feelings about soft drinks clear at a press conference in Budapest.

After that, Ronaldo held out a water bottle and said, “Agua!” in Portuguese, as if to encourage people to drink water instead of aerated drinks. The video of the whole episode was shared widely on social media.

Coca-Cola is one of Euro 2020’s official sponsors. According to media sources, the corporation responded with a statement on Tuesday saying that “everyone is entitled to their drink preferences” with varied “tastes and needs.”
