#ICYMI | Euro 2020: Patrik Schick’s Halfway-Line Goal Stuns Social Media

Patrik Schick

The Czech Republic’s Patrik Schick scored one of the most remarkable goals in European Championship history.

Schick scored both goals for the Czech Republic in a 2-0 European Championship victory over Scotland on Monday. His second goal, though, will be remembered for years to come.

Patrik Schick saw the goalie off his line and scored a two-goal lead for his club from just inside the halfway line.

When a shot was stopped, Scotland lost possession and the ball dropped to Schick. Before striking a long, looping shot that rebounded into a goal, the Bayern Leverkusen forward looked up and spotted opposing goalkeeper David Marshall way off his line.

The attempt to score by Schick resulted in a superb goal that let the Czech Republic gain a 2-0 lead in the 52nd minute.
