India on Sunday reported 80,834 fresh infections, the lowest in 71 days, and 3,303 deaths in the last 24 hours. As per the data released by the Union health ministry, 25,31,95,048 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, with 34,84,239 taking the jab in the last 24 hours. The total active cases have dropped by 54,531 and now stand at 10,26,159.

  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sought the Group of Seven (G7) developed nations’ support for the proposal moved by India and South Africa for a temporary global waiver on patent protection for COVID-19 vaccines.
