FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be misleading.

With the help of keywords search, we found a tweet by DD News Gujarati dated May 6, 2020. The video attached to the tweet featured Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Gujarat.

In the video, she explained that the experiment was done with people who were in the quarantine centres. Nearly 6210 people gave their consent and willingness to adopt the homoeopathic or Ayurveda treatment to boost their immunity during the stay.

Further, she added that only 11 out of 6210 people tested positive because they had the concoction for only 3 days. While those who completed the course did not test positive.

Moreover, we found some guidelines of Ayurveda’s immunity-boosting measures for self-care during the COVID-19 crisis by the Ministry of AYUSH. The headline mentioned that the measures are only for immunity boosting and not for cure.

We also found a tweet by government’s nodal information agency Press Information Bureau (PIB), the government’s nodal agency, dated May 17, 2021. The tweet mentioned that AYUSH Ministry has advised drinking the concoction only to boost immunity. It cannot be used to cure coronavirus.

The above information proves that the concoction is not a cure for COVID-19 patients and did not cure 6,000 coronavirus patients. Hence, the claim is misleading.
