Few pictures of trains engulfed in flames are doing the rounds on social media with a claim that the pictures show a recent collision between Chhapra Express and Anand Vihar Terminal Express.

We ran a Google search using some keywords and found that the same pictures along with the same captions were posted on Facebook on June 7, 2018.
Further, we put individual pictures through Reverse Image Search and found that both the pictures are old.

On putting the first image through Reverse Image Search, we found a report by Amar Ujala dated May 22, 2018, featuring the same picture.
The headline of the report read, “तस्वीरें: देखें कैसे जल उठे नई दिल्ली-आंध्र प्रदेश एक्सप्रेस के कोच, यात्रियों ने ऐसे बचाई जान” (Translation- Photos: Watch the coaches of the New Delhi-Andhra Pradesh Express in flames, passengers saved their lives)
Two coaches of the New Delhi Andhra Pradesh Express (22416) going from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam caught fire on May 21, 2018, near Birla Nagar station in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district. As per Railway officials, the fire was caused by a short circuit.

On putting the second image through Reverse Image Search we found the picture in a report by TV9 Hindi dated December 15, 2019. The image was used as a file image in the report.
NewsMobile could not independently verify the origin and location of the picture but the above information proves the picture is old and in circulation since 2018.
We checked Indian Railways social media handles but could not find any post or tweet to corroborate the viral claim.
Moreover, we did not find any latest news report about any train collision between Chhapra Express and Anand Vihar Terminal Express.
The above information proves that the pictures are old. Hence, the claim is false.
