An Indian national was killed in a rocket attack by Hamas on Israel on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Soumya Santosh, who hailed from Kerala, reports say.
Israel Foreign Ministry confirmed the attack, saying Hamas terrorists fired a barrage of rockets from Gaza on Central Israel, targeting Tel Aviv and cities in the area.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, tweeted, “Spoke with the family of Ms Soumya Santhosh to convey my deep condolences at her tragic demise during the rocket attacks from Gaza today. Assured all possible assistance. We have condemned these attacks and the violence in Jerusalem, and urged restraint by both sides.”

Israel’s ambassador to India, Dr Ron Malka also condoled the death of Indian national Soumya Santosh in Hamas rocket strike in Ashkelon.

According to reports, Hamas said in a statement it had fired 130 rockets towards Tel-Aviv and its suburbs amid ongoing tensions between the Israelis and Palestinians.
