A snapshot of a tweet thread allegedly posted by veteran BJP leader LK Advani is doing rounds on social media. The tweets appear to critical of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and how Prime Minister Narendra Modi is handling the COVID-19 crisis.
One of the two tweets read: मेरी ज़िंदगी की सबसे बड़ी गलती मेरा आरएसएस जैसे निर्दयी संघ को अहमियत देना, मैंने आरएसएस की हमेशा सेवा की, मैं राजनीति में उन लोगों को आगे लेकर आया जो संघ से जुड़े चेहरे थे, मैंने देश की भलाई के बारे में सोचा हमेशा! लेकिन मुझे नहीं पता था कि मेरी एक भूल देश को नरक में धकेल देगी
(Translation: The biggest mistake of my life is to give importance to a ruthless RSS, I have always served the RSS, I brought forward those people in politics who were the faces of the Sangh, I always thought about the well being of the country! But I did not know that my mistake would push the country into hell)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false.
Firstly, we noticed that the spelling of ‘Advani’ was wrong, as ‘W’ was used instead of ‘V’. Then we searched for the Twitter handle @LK_Adwani and found there is no Twitter handle with this name.
Using the Twitter advanced search, we were not able to find the tweet from the viral account in circulation.
We further checked the internet for media reports to check if Advani had put out the tweet but could not find anything remotely close to it.
Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the tweet in circulation doesn’t exist and is being falsely attributed to LK Advani. The Twitter handle used to spread this false message is in no way linked to BJP patriarch L K Advani.
